About This Piece
Is it worth portraying someone who is nobody? I ask myself that, and make the image anyway. Why create art about what's already obvious? That only repeats what we know. Art should be intriguing — it should raise questions and make you engage.
So here is Mrs Nobody: a figure whose existence is undeniable, even though her name is unknown. She gazes at something only she can see, completely immersed in the blue alchemy of her own body's colour. Her hands are folded — concentration, or perhaps inaction? Her head is bowed — deep thought, or a tinge of sadness? I leave it open.
Because the truth is, Mrs Nobody lives inside many of us. Anonymous, overlooked, and quietly full of an inner life.
