Letters from the Malexander Studio
Once a month I write a letter from my studio in Malexander.
Each letter holds one painting: where it began, what it carries, and what the two worlds I have painted my whole life — the human and the natural — are saying to each other in it. Sometimes I write about what is on the easel right now, or what the lake and the forest here look like when the light changes.
These are not newsletters. There is no news in them, and nothing you need to know about art to read them. They are for people who look at a painting and want to stay a little longer.
If that is you, I will be glad to write to you.
You will hear from me about once a month. Readers of the letters are also the first to see new works when they leave the studio. You can leave at any time.
