About This Piece

Night rain asks nothing of you. No umbrellas, no soaked shoes, no errands to ruin — only the steady rhythm of drops in the dark, and the moon glimpsed through the falling curtain. There's a serenity in it that daytime rain never offers: a scene that turns quiet and mysterious, almost like poetry.

I drew it in pen and ink, because the subject wants nothing more. Raindrops descending against silhouetted trees, black ink holding the contrast of light and shadow, fine strokes tracing the endless delicate movement. The restraint is the point — as pure as the night itself.

These belong to the tradition of nocturnes, that lineage of artists drawn to the world daylight hides. It's my nature theme turned inward and luminous: a landscape that becomes pure feeling.

An original pen-and-ink drawing. Signed.
