About This Piece

A man and a woman stand almost touching, and yet held apart by something invisible. His hand reaches toward her, frozen in hesitation. She turns away, lost in a world of her own. The whole piece is one moment suspended in time, balanced between connection and distance, passion and uncertainty.

The intense red is doing the emotional work. Red is the colour of extremes — love and desire, but also danger and hesitation — and it wraps the figures until their situation feels charged and unresolved.

So the art print asks a question and refuses to answer it. Will she turn to meet his gaze? Will his hand close the gap, or will the longing stay an unspoken whisper between them? You decide. The real tension isn't in their bodies but in everything left unsaid.

My own technique on Fabriano paper, the figures built in rich acrylic. Signed.
