About This Piece
Two bodies intertwine — a man and a woman, drawn in black and white. She has disheveled hair and folded hands, raw and intense, full of feeling. He stays calm, his posture forming a kind of shelter, a safe haven where her overwhelming emotions can rest. One person becoming a refuge for the other.
Black and white aren't really colours but the extreme ends of the spectrum — pure opposites, and exactly because of that they hold everything that lies between them. That's the whole subject. The title points not to either figure but to the space they make together.
That in-between is a tender, important place — where security is given and received, where two people meet and something passes between them that neither could hold alone.
An original drawing. Signed.
