About This Piece

Drawing from nature sounds effortless. It isn't. Nature builds forms of bewildering complexity, from a pebble to a living body, and to sit and sketch them is to test both the hand and the eye. But it's also how I connect most deeply to the world — every leaf, tree knot, and stone holds a story.

When I draw, I'm not trying to copy anything precisely. I'm after its spirit — the rhythm, the balance, the quiet genius hidden in ordinary things. Each line becomes a dialogue between what I see and what I feel, so the drawing belongs to no scientific category, yet comes entirely out of nature.

That close attention is its own reward. A kind of meditation: looking until the ordinary turns extraordinary, then letting the hand follow.

This is the root of my whole nature theme. An original drawing. Signed.
