Hidden Lover

Two figures pressed close, as if trying to occupy the smallest possible space. Even in the dark that wraps them, their silhouettes reveal an intimate bond — a love that feels both deep and fragile.

But there's a quiet dissonance. The man holds slightly back, lingering in shadow, faintly outlined in deep black, as though resisting the pull toward her. Is he retreating, or just gathering the courage to step forward? I left it unresolved, because that hesitation is so human: we long for connection, and the same longing makes us afraid.

So black and white do the work. Black is the unknown, the fear that keeps us guarded; white is openness, the hope of stepping into the light. Yet the soft curves of the figures hint at reconciliation — the hidden lover emerging at last.

For me, drawing is itself an act of love. An original drawing. Signed.
