In Arms Angel

A guardian angel folds his beloved in his arms. You can't see his wings — only the outstretched arms, spread so wide they don't fit the page. That's deliberate. I had a rectangle of paper and a feeling too large for it, so I cropped: I cut the arms off at the edges and let you imagine where they end.

In what gesture did they stop? Spread open still? Or curving back toward her, closing her in a safe circle? That's yours to decide.

She folds her own arms over herself, holding her body as if to affirm she's truly here, in this safe space. He is larger and stronger, she smaller and more delicate — and in extending his care, he becomes an angel for her.
