Lovers Test

A man and a woman stand close, their bodies almost touching. He extends his hand toward her — but it stays suspended in the air, unmoving, held back by something he can't quite name. And she appears inverted, turned as if she exists in a separate realm altogether.

That's the paradox the image holds: two people physically near and emotionally worlds apart. The deep human longing to truly reach another person, and the invisible thing that so often stops us just short.

They seem to be trying something out — putting the distance between them to the test, waiting to see whether the gap can be crossed. I left the outcome open, because in life it usually is.

The reaching, and the holding back, in a single suspended moment.
