About This Piece
She is built from contrast. Green against red — rebirth against heat, vitality against urgency — colours that behave like painted skin rather than shading. She assembles herself from fragmented shapes, as if she's rebuilding as she moves.
Her head turns away from her torso. The pose is uncomfortable on purpose: a twist of resistance, a woman claiming her space and declaring her presence with more force for the awkwardness of it. Strength and vulnerability held in the same body at the same moment.
This is the human figure as I use it — proportions altered to carry psychological weight rather than likeness, imperfection as the place where beauty lives.
A monotype on Fabriano paper, pulled from the matrix in ink and built up by hand, so the texture is entirely its own. Only four versions exist. Signed.
