Structure

A tree, looked at closely: the holes, the grain, the patterns most people walk past without seeing. In black and white, stripped of colour, those textures become the whole story — light and shadow moving across carved lines.

This comes from my Structures from Nature series, made in my graphic studio in Malexander with the forest right outside the door. I carve the matrix by hand with a chisel, cut by cut, until the design feels alive, then pull it on fine Fabriano paper through the press. It's slow, deliberate work, and the imperfection of the hand is part of what gives it life.

This is my nature theme at its most distilled: the ordinary revealed as elegant, a fragment of forest held still.
