About This Piece
Imagine a misty morning walk. The world has gone grey — trees and buildings dissolving into haze — and beside you the white coat of a borzoi shines through it like a beacon. That quiet, luminous calm is what this painting holds.
The breed carries an aristocratic past; the Russian tsars prized these dogs so highly they could only be given as a gift from the ruler himself. But you don't need any of that history to be caught by one. The slender silhouette, the flowing coat, the way it runs with the grace and speed of a cheetah — beauty enough on its own.
I painted it almost entirely in shades of grey, with just two black accents for the eye and the nose. They pull your gaze straight to that elegant outline emerging from the mist.
An original painting. Signed.
