About This Piece
A man walks a winding road through a vast navy-blue landscape, and where the road bends he has to choose: turn, or carry straight on. That small moment of decision is the whole painting.
Because a curve is where a path changes its mind. Follow it and you're diverted from where you were heading, carried somewhere unplanned — exactly like a life. My landscape is full of these curves, intertwining into a dense, almost cosmic structure, deep navy blue everywhere, with mountain peaks on the horizon catching a single warm accent of orange. That orange is the only heat in the cold expanse, and it pulls the eye toward the choice ahead.
He is a person inside the land, and the land shaped like his freedom. Let's hope he chooses wisely — we all stand on that curve.
