Lady in Red, as portrayed in this painting, is a young girl, which is quite unconventional. Typically, we associate the image of a lady with a mature woman who exudes confidence and self-respect. Indeed, it is when a woman knows how to embody these qualities in her behaviour. That she truly embodies the essence of being a lady.

For instance, we often say she behaves like a lady or possesses ladylike attributes. However, the protagonist of my artwork is still in the early stages of her life, with countless experiences awaiting her.

Consequently, I have chosen to depict her at a specific moment, where she is completely immersed in the vibrant hue of red. Furthermore, the fine detail in the fabric’s texture and the soft play of light on the woman’s skin create a dynamic contrast that draws the eye.
In addition, the lady in red lies in a graceful position, with a background in red. Seemingly at rest, or perhaps surrendering herself to the captivating allure of the red that envelops her. Notably, red, a color symbolising warmth, intense emotions, and love, dominates the scene.

Escape to red color from grey monotonous routine

The Lady in Red painting, therefore, becomes a companion for the viewer. In this way, it can guide him or her on an escape from the monotonous routine of existence. Together, we embark on a journey into a world where love reigns supreme, where, indeed, passion and emotions run wild.
Furthermore, Lady in Red is the motif of many paintings. For instance, I will mention one here, by the Italian painter Florentine, from around 1460. Notably, it is a small picture measuring 42x29 cm. Although it is titled Lady in Red, the red color does not dominate the picture.
Instead, it scrolls subtly in the pattern of the model's dress. Moreover, we can only see a piece of her. The artist has, in fact, masterfully painted the fabric pattern. Consequently, the red from it radiates nobly and enlightens the entire painting.
