About This Piece

Two figures intertwined, resting in one another's embrace, dissolving into a background that moves like water or light. Everything is cool blue and cyan — fluid, dreamlike, the drapery flowing until you can't quite tell where one form ends and the next begins.

The title borrows from Gershwin, and the painting works the way music does: it loosens something, lets you sink into yourself and your own quiet humanity. Experienced alone it's reflection; experienced by two, the feeling doubles, each giving it to the other.

Blue is the colour of space, and space we associate with the infinite. So I wanted the rhapsody to feel endless — a couple held in a moment that doesn't have to end.

An original painting in oil. Signed.
