About This Piece

"Supergirl." "Superwoman." We hand women these words as the highest praise — beautiful, kind, resilient, endlessly devoted. But who decided a woman has to be everywhere at once, juggling every role without dropping one?

The central figure in this collage faces two opposite directions, caught in exactly that balancing act: caring, supporting, leading, creating, all at the same time, all while holding her grace. Any woman who has felt the pressure to be everything to everyone will recognise her instantly.

So it's less a portrait than a tribute — to the complexity of womanhood, its struggles and its beauty held together. And it refuses to resolve the question it raises: do women really need to chase this impossible ideal, or are they already extraordinary, exactly as they are?

I left that open, on purpose. A mixed-media collage. Signed.
