Superwoman

Superwoman is the word we reach for as the highest praise. Not just beautiful or well-kept, but kind, strong, patient — the one who carries everyone else. This work asks quietly: who carries her?

The inspiration came from illustrated magazines of the 1920s, where women already bore the "superwoman" label — always in service to others. A century later, the word is still praise and still a weight. This is the third work in the series, and it marks a transition: from delicate girl to a woman fully conscious of herself and her body. Whether that consciousness reads as triumph or as fatigue — I leave open. The work holds both.

Look at the red against the black — the red is not decoration; it is the temperature of the scene.

The piece is built in my own print technique — collage monotype, pressed in layers of offset ink and acrylic until the surface feels alive. Because it is a monotype, this exact image exists once and cannot be repeated.
