How to buy original art directly from an artist

Can a Sunflower Exist in Black and White?
Is it possible to depict a sunflower without colour? Can a black-and-white drawing truly capture the beauty of a flower so strongly associated with sunlight and golden petals? These questions guided me as I began creating this artwork, challenging the traditional expectation that sunflowers must always be vibrant and yellow.
Looking Beyond Colour
Instead of focusing on colour, I chose to explore the structure of the flower itself. Without bright pigments competing for attention, the viewer can notice the intricate design that nature creates — the delicate rhythm of petals and the remarkable symmetry hidden within the sunflower’s form.
The Power of Symmetry
At the centre of the composition lies a deep, almost hypnotic core. Like a dark eye, it draws the viewer inward, inviting contemplation. This bold contrast between light and shadow reveals another side of the sunflower — one that feels calm, thoughtful, and timeless rather than radiant and loud.
Pen and Ink as a Creative Voice
This drawing was created using my favourite technique: pen and ink. The precision of ink lines allows every detail to emerge clearly, from the layered petals to the textured centre. Working in monochrome emphasizes form, movement, and balance, proving that emotion and beauty do not rely solely on colour.
A Different Way to Experience Flowers
Black-and-white floral art encourages a slower viewing experience. Without colour cues, attention shifts toward texture, composition, and contrast. The sunflower becomes less a symbol of brightness and more a study of nature’s design — elegant, structured, and quietly expressive.

Abstractionism in art – Black sunset
Within this painting, one can still observe the abstract mosaic of the landscape, shaped by human intervention. The fields bear the marks of man’s plowing and pattern-making, which the earth has gracefully accepted, acknowledging their inherent beauty. As the sun sets, it casts its last muted rays of light, almost appearing black.
